1966-017A
Following the success of Luna-9, the E-6 was modified to carry a small lunar satellite instead of a landing capsule. This variant was known as E-6S. The first to be launched was designated E-6S No. 204, announced as Kosmos-111 when it failed to leave Earth orbit. The Blok L lost roll control in parking orbit and the second engine firing was cancelled.
