But after the Apollo 18 spacecraft enters lunar orbit Roger suddenly comes down with space flu, imperiling his chances of a moonwalk. It is up to Mission Control and Tony to make a choice that will affect what remains of the Apollo program.
Note:This episode was based on the The Bold Ones:The New Doctors episode "One Small Step for Man" (November 23,1969), albeit with the Lunar Module Pilot being ill instead of the commander. Bill Daily later commented that it was his choice to have Roger not walk on the Moon.

But as the time for the deorbit burn approaches the CSM’s various problems compound, leading to a race against the clock for Sellers to return it to Earth and for Mission Control to assist him.
Note: This episode was based on both the cancelled Skylab Rescue mission and the return to Earth of Apollo 13.

Note: Tessa Northcutt was loosely based on actual flight controller Poppy Northcutt, who acted as an unofficial technical consultant for the episode. Poppy had uncredited appearances in six prior episodes and she appeared in ten more.
256-27. “The Fighting Nurse” (May 10,1974)
JSC Biological Science Office employee Sandy Dawson (Judy Carne) is in an unusual position: her ex-boyfriend (an unseen/only heard Frank Sinatra Jr) is trying to win her over again, causing her to seek refuge in the Nelson home. With the assistance of Tony and Rakharo (Martin E.Brooks),Haji’s Master of the Swords,Sandy is able to both beat her ex physically and expose evidence of his drug smuggling, removing him as a threat to her for good.
Note: This episode led to a romance between Bill Daily and Judy Carne that culminated in their 1979 marriage: they remained married until Carne’s death in 2010.
257-28. “I Bring Fresh Flowers” (May 17,1974)
Like many space buffs worldwide,Tony eagerly follows the Soyuz 16 mission featuring cosmonauts Feodor Zaitsev (Nicholas Clay) and Yulia Murtazina (Koo Stark), the second woman to fly in space, but when their spaceship lands in the Bay of Houston owing to an emergency deorbit following a propellant leak,it is up to him to host the crew at his house - and in the process unlearn certain lessons he’s been taught regarding the Soviets.
Note: This episode was loosely based on a scifi short story of the same name by Robert F.Young, who directed the episode. It is one of the most critically acclaimed episodes of the early period of IDoJ.

When the Titan IIIC launch to insert AGNES into orbit fails, unbeknownst to Tony Jeannie herself flies into space to rectify its orbit, leveling the playing field as it were in this fourth IDoJ TV movie.
Note: This episode was a sequel to “Jeannie and the Secret Weapon” (April 14,1969) and lasted 68 minutes. The launch was represented by stock footage of the Titan 3C-22 launch on March 1,1972,which deployed the DSP-3 early warning satellite. Marvin Oglethorpe (Richard Schaal),the inventor of AGNES in the original episode, has a pair of non-speaking cameos in this episode.

USAF Lieutenant Nelly Hunt (Meredith Baxter Birney) reports for her first day of work at JSC,with Tony as her mentor until she settles in as a flight controller. The episode is presented as her recounting her first day to her roommate Shirley (Jayne Marie Mansfield).
Note: This episode was the first of many over 28 seasons featuring earnest flight controller (and future astronaut) Hunt. In all but Hunt’s last 7 seasons she was portrayed by Birney:in 1991 Hilarie Thompson assumed the role, keeping it until the character left NASA in 1999.

Remembering Kiski’s bulldoggedness from several years earlier,Dr Bellows calls on Jeannie to reprise her old tricks on him.
Note: This episode was a sequel to “My Master, the Weakling” (October 10,1967). Bruce Boa played Kiski because Don Rickles’ schedule was unfavorable to his reprising the role.
