Luna 6

The next launch was spacecraft E-6 No. 7, named Luna-6 once en route to the Moon.  The mid-course correction burn failed to shut down and burned to depletion. According to the Chertok memoirs, the lander was separated from the engine unit the following day and the airbags were inflated.
