The 104 kg F26 (Block 5A F-3) satellite was launched on 1971 Feb 17 by Thor Burner 2 from Vandenberg. Three Naval Research Lab drag spheres, the PL170 experiment, were carried as a supplementary experiment and released from the Burner 2 stage. DMSP 3526 transmitted for two years, making it the only really successful Block 5A satellite.
The orbit was 19:30 LTDN.
