Yaogan 14

Launched with TT-1 (Tiantuo 1) from NUDT (National Univ of Defense Technology). RCS 5.8 sq m, similar to YW-5 and 12. However, the orbit, although similar, is more circular. The satellite makes frequent small manuevers. Its 1414 LTDN orbit was 60 deg from previous launches. YG-14 was reported to use the CAST PhoenixEye-2 bus but it had a larger fairing and Gunter Krebs’s website suggests it is a different payload.

Mobile User Objective System, USN/DoD UHF system to supersede the UHF Follow-On series. Managed by USN PMW 146 (Com Sat Program Office), San Diego, acquisition by USAF.

LMSS/Sunnyvale; bus and UHF antenna by LMCSS/Newtown. Control by Pt Mugu. A2100 Box + 2 panels + dish

MUOS 2,3,4 2011,2012,2013 System slots are 177W, 100W, 15.5W, 75E with spare at 72E.

4.3m wide high 7.9m, span 28.0m mass 3812 kg dry 6740 kg full box + 2 pan + 2 dishes (1 big, 1 small).

Chinasat 20

CAST/CASTC DFH-3. According to sinodefense.com, this satellite was Shen Tong 1 and used for Ku-band mobile strategic communications.

Mass 2300 kg. Served at 103E from 2003 to 2008, then at 98E.

In 2008, ZX-20 and ZX-22A exchanged positions `due to the needs of users'. In 2013, ZX-22A moved slightly and ZX-20 returned to the 103E position.
