Sweetapple High: a reskin of an old idea of mine based on Francine Pascal’s original concept for Sweet Valley High.

Setting

 - Sweetapple,on the northern coast of California. Close enough to the coast that they still have regular beach access.

  - 1980 or so.

Characters

  - Elizabeth Wakefield, the good triplet. Runs The Oracle, the school paper.

   - Jessica Wakefield, the bad triplet. Canon characterization.

    - Laura Wakefield, sort of both. Sort of an Olivia Davidson analogue,if Olivia was a Wakefield and inherited Ned’s dark hair.

   - Steven Wakefield, their brother. A freshman at Sweet Apple College.

     - Helen Bradley, his girlfriend. Possibly biracial.

- Annie and Steven Wakefield Sr,their parents.

- Winston Egbert,our protagonist. Still a geek.

  - Chloe and Samantha Egbert, his twin sisters. 3 years younger than him.

- Kara Walker,his girlfriend.

- Alexandra “call me Alex!” Rollins,a functional equivalent of Enid.

- Manny Fernandez,her boyfriend.

- Amy Sutton, the rich girl in town. Takes the place of Lila Fowler in canon.

- Lila Fowler,here Amy’s chief beta bitch.

- Hope Arnett,another of Amy’s beta bitches.

- Betsy “call me Liz!” Martin, ditto.

- Caroline Pearce,ditto.

- Lindsay Larson, chief singer of the Droids.

- Ellie Mayer,drummer.

- Jinx Dellon,bassist and Lindsay’s boyfriend.

- Maria Pascal,the cheer captain.

- Josie West,Maria’s co-captain.

- Sandra Barrett,a cheerleader.

- Susan Stewart,a cheerleader.

- Mandy Miller,a cheerleader.

- Peggy Abbot,a cheerleader.

- Terry Porter,a jock. Friendly with Elizabeth.

- Julie Porter, fraternal twin sister of Terry,Elizabeth’s best friend.

- Janice Porter,their older sister.

Kosmos 1699

 1985-101A

Kosmos-1699 was launched one week after the landing of the previous mission. For the first month the usual circa 170 x 350 km orbital regime was used, but in December the satellite was operated in a less elliptical orbit of circa 180 x 295 km.

Kosmos 929

 1977-066A

The first TKS test flight, Kosmos-929, used VA No. 009/2, the third model 009 flight article. The analysis of Philip Clark suggests a VA landing around 1954 UTC on Aug 16 or 1931 UTC on Aug 17; I prefer the latter date which is consistent with the 17 Aug date given in Khrunichev's 90-year history.
