Skynet 5 satellites were be owned and operated by private contractor Paradigm Secure Communications (Astrium/Stevenage consortium) for the MoD and NATO. Paradigm (rebranded as Airbus Defense and Space Ltd from 2015) is based at Corsham in Wiltshire with the ground station teleport at Azimghur Barracks in nearby Colerne.
EADS Astrium/Stevenage E3000LX (or SX) satellite with mass of 4844 kg launch. Mexsat was 2934 kg, and Sylda/adaptors were 857 kg.
