Galaxy 10R

HS-601HP replacement for the Galaxy 10 satellite, lost in the Delta 3 explosion. Location 127W. Launch mass is 3651 kg, BOL 2137 kg, dry mass 1987 kg. Size is box 6.0 x 3.4 x 2.3m with 26.2m span. Galaxy 10R was assigned to the 'Galaxy cable neighbourhood' consisting of Galaxy 1R, 5, 7 and 9. G9 was moved from 123W to 127W establishing a new location. G10R also provided Ku-band capacity supplementing SBS-5.

In Aug 2004 the second of two XIPS ion thruster systems failed, leaving the satellite reliant on its bipropellant engine.
