The Deutsche Bundespost (DBP Telekom) ordered two direct broadcast satellites from MBB and Aerospatiale's Eurosatellite consortium. The Spacebus 300 class TV-SAT was launched in Nov 1987 but a solar panel failed to open. The satellite was used for systems tests by GSOC.
