Ume 2

 1978-018A

The second NASDA/RRL Ionospheric Sounding Satellite, ISS-b, was launched in Feb 1978 as part of the International Magnetospheric Study (IMS). It was similar to the first Ume and this time operated well. The apogee was a little higher than previously, presumably an overburn of stage 3.
