SES-3

 Launch 2011 on Proton dual with Kazsat-2. SES World Skies/Princeton (former Americom) satellite. Orbital Star-2.4E bus. Mass 3170 kg launch, 3112 kg separated.

Procured on orbit by SESSL, then transferred to SESWS. Former AMC 5R. Carried C and Ku band payload as well as military Ka-band.

After initial checkout at 77W in Jul-Aug 2011, SES-3 was moved to 98W from Sep 19 to Dec 14. Here it provided an SES in-orbit spare and to bring into use the EchoStar USATSAT-70V Ka-band service until Echostar 17 entered service in Oct 2012.

It was then drifted around the planet to 108E, where it stayed from Feb 2012 to 2012 Jul under the control of SES/Gibraltar. Its next location was at 103W starting at 2012 Sep 26.
