2008-059A
STS-126 was prepared for the HST reserve mission as STS-400, and rolled out to pad 39B. After STS-125 was delayed, Endeavour was rolled over to pad 39A for STS-126.
MPLM is to be installed on Node 2 Nadir. FHRC will be transferred from LMC to ESP-3 Site 2. An old NTA will be returned to the LMC. CETA carts will be switched to port site of MT. SARJ maintenance EVAs.
A picosat will be deployed.
EMU 3005 (Piper) and 3011 (Bowen) at launch.
3003 and 3018 used on orbit for Bowen and Kimbrough 3004 also on board.
Down: 3018 and 3003. Post: 3005, 3011 and 3004
3005 now has Mega PLSS for long duration on orbit.
Mass is 116554 kg at MECO, 115435 at OMS-2 CO. By 3d20h mass is scheduled to be 111980 kg. Prop is 13564 kg (OMS+ARCS+FRCS). 7434 kg cargo up, 1652 kg returned. MPLM mass 12748 kg up, 6966 kg down, for 5782 kg net delivered from MPLM. AWST reports 6539 kg up, 1588 down for net 4951 kg. MR reports MD 600 up, 526 down (including 2 EMU each way) plus 620 kg water/O2 up; MPLM 6865 up, 1807 down, external transfers 460 kg up 471 kg down. These external transfer represent FHRC up, NTA down and do not appear to include the TBAs or the ETVCG.
12 TBAs were returned.
Weather at KSC meant that the EDT temporary runway at Edwards was considered for landing.

AMC-14
2008-011A
LM A2100AXS satellite for SES Americom, supplement AMC-15. Will work as part of Americom2Home service. Leased by Echostar. Launch by Proton ILS 2008.
Mass 4140 kg, to be parked at 61.5W replacing Echostar 3. Prop mass 2130 kg so dry mass 2010 kg. Isp around 329s? (CKPC) or 600s for the arcjet engines (O Morgan, p.c.).
The planned launch profile was unusual, with only three Briz burns. The Briz long second burn failed prematurely, leaving AMC 14 in the wrong orbit, but the spacecraft used up its stationkeeping fuel to reach inclined GEO. In June 2008 the satellite was sold to the US Air Force and it was positioned over the Indian Ocean, possibly to relay drone data.
Meanwhile in 2010, the Briz stage exploded. RCS values show that objects B, C and CX are large (9, 5 and 9 sq m), with E next at 2 sq m. I tentatively identify B and C as the main remnants of the Briz and DTB.
