Diademé 2

 1967-014A

Launched in Feb 1967 only a week after the first, the second Diad`eme geodetic satellite D-1D was similar to D-1C. Its Doppler transmitter operated until Apr 5. Mass was 23kg.

This was the last orbital flight from Hammaguir; soon afterwards, the French evacuated Algeria, and their space program was transferred to their South American colony of La Guyane.

Associated with 1967-14 is 18911/1967-14M, which is in a higher orbit and has element sets back to Feb 1961 when it was in a 643 x 2559 km x 38.87 deg orbit; it is probably a piece of Explorer 9 debris.
