Operations at Taurus Littrow Base

LEVA-1 began at 2353 on Dec 11. The hatch was opened at 2354:49. By 0024:10 LRV-3 had been unloaded. After a test drive (completed at 0046) the astronauts proceeded to deployment of the ALSEP, which was done by 0340. The first traverse was to Steno Crater. The LRV reached Steno at 0457, and was back at the LM at 0609. The hatch was closed at 0706:42. The EVA lasted 7h 11m 42s.

The hatch opened for LEVA-2 at 2328:06 on Dec 12. The crew were off in the LRV by 0017, on a traverse to Nansen Crater and the South Massif. They reached Nansen at 0234. The next stop was Lara Crater, at 0321; Shorty Crater at 0415; Camelot Crater at 0518. They returned to the LM at 0605. The hatch was closed at 0705:02 and the cabin was repressurized after 07:37:21.

On Dec 13, LEVA-3 began at 2225:28. Cernan and Schmitt set off in the LRV at 2309, and arrived at the North Massif at 2344. After a side trip to Van Berg Crater (0244) they arrived back at the LM at 0410. The LRV was parked at 0512, and Apollo astronauts left the lunar surface for the last time. The hatch was closed at 0540:56 and the cabin was repressurized after 7h 15m.

At 0640? on Dec 14 the cabin was depressurized again for about 5 minutes and the hatch was opened for an equipment dump. At 2058 on Dec 14 the hatch was again opened for 2 minutes for another equipment dump. The cabin was repressurized at 2100.

LM 12 Flight 2: Taurus-Littrow Base to CSM 114

Launch mass is 4944 kg. At jettison 204 kg of RCS prop left; 122 of this used for deorbit when mass was 2393 kg. Deorbit burn was 65m/s.
