KH-4A Mission 1049 was launched on 1968 Dec 12 by Thorad Agena D from Vandenberg. Both SRVs were recovered. The photography was out of focus but generally of good quality. The mission deployed a subsatellite into a high 1400 km orbit, the first of a new series. The Agena carried 9 DMUs of the 2000 lb-s type.
