S-056B was given the alternate name AD-A (Air Density Explorer A) in the new naming scheme. After launch, it got the name Explorer XIX. Launch was at 1849:25 on 1963 Dec 19, by Scout X-4 from Launch Complex D at Point Arguello Naval Missile Facility. It was inserted into a 590 x 2934 km x 78.6 deg orbit at 1858. Planned orbit had been 596 x 2994 km.
