Rex 1

 1991-045A

The P89-1A Radiation Experiment satellite, REX (RADC-802), was built by DSI for USAF Rome Lab using a POGS/Macsat type bus. It carried hardened communications systems built by Rome Labs, Griffiss AFB, New York. The 85 kg satellite was originally scheduled to be launched together with Alexis but the P89-1 payload was split up.

The satellite studies the effect of electron density irregularities on ionospheric radio signals and was also known as ISES (Integrated Space Experiment System).

Four debris objects were cataloged; C and D close to the REX orbit, E and F in higher and lower orbits. Possibly two sets of despin weights were carried.
