Echostar 2

Echostar II (Echostar 102) was launched on 1996 Sep 10 by Ariane 42P, having been shifted off the CZ-2E after Chinese launch failures. It was colocated with Echostar 1 at 119W and was similar but carried less fuel.

The Series 7000 Echostar 2 satellite has 16 transponders for transmitting up to 100 channels for the Dish Network. Echostar of Englewood, Co.

Mass was 2865 kg (launch), 1710 kg (BOL), 1324 kg (dry). Fairing 01 was used. Size is 2.18 x 2.49 x 2.79 m with 23.8m span.
