Panamsat 6

PAS 6 was launched by Ariane 4 in 1997 as an AOR satellite. The FS-1300 satellite has 36 Ku-band transponders. It will be used for DTH broadcasting to Latin America by the Sky Entertainment Services consortium. Panamsat/Greenwich,CT and Hughes Galaxy/LA merged 1997 May 16 to form a new Panamsat.

The launch vehicle was a dedicated AR44P with Fairing 01. Launch mass was 3420 kg, BOL 2050 kg, dry 1285 kg. Bus is 2.4 x 2.7 x 5.3m, with 27m span.
