Soyuz TM-34 (Uranus)

Spacecraft 208 was used for the 4S (EP-3) taxi flight with KDR Yuriy Gidzenko, BI-1 Roberto Vittori and UKP Mark Shuttleworth.

Mark Shuttleworth was born in Welkom, S.A and lives in Cape Town. He was the founder of Thawte Consulting and the venture capital company HBD. He flew as a private citizen, his mission was called the FAIS (First African In Space) project. He will carry out experiments on stem cells, soluble protein crystallization, and physiology (heart and muscle monitoring).

TM-34 landed 100 km NE of Arkalyk. The MPAC/SEED C1 sample tray may have been returned on this flight.
