Echostar 17

Hughes Network Systems high capacity Ka broadband satellite, built by Loral with over 100 Gbps throughput. Former Spaceway 4, was called Jupiter 1 until it became owned by Echostar, which bought Hughes in 2011.

Hughes Network Systems (Germantown, MD) ordered a Ka-band Loral-1300E satellite with a mass of 6100 kg, for US domestic data comms. Unlike Spaceway 3, no onboard processing will be done.

VA207 performance was 9635 kg (6100 kg Echostar, 2032 kg MSG, 1503 kg adapters and Sylda)
