JAXA Global Change Observation Mission - Water.

Will observe precipitation, vapor amounts, wind velocity above the ocean, sea water temperatures, water levels on land areas and snow depths.

NEC Toshiba Space? (NECTF??) Mass 1900 kg. Box + 2 panels + dish. 2m box, 2m atetnna, 5m high? 20m? span. Size 5.1 x 17.5 x 3.4m, 1991 kg launch, with 151 kg prop.

H-2A F21 carries a 4/4D-LC fairing with the Arirang 3 satellite in the upper position and GCOM in the lower position. SDS-4 and Horyu 2 are mounted on the lower adapter.

GCOM-1 was at Tsukuba during the earthquake but was not damaged. 700 km SSO

Followon is GCOM-C (Climate)

Launch with Arirang-3, SDS-4 and Houryu-2. The Stage 2 performs post-separation engineering experiments to study upgrades for the propellant system.
