2018-042A
Discovery-class Mars lander based on Phoenix.
Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport. The mission will study crustal thickness, layering, core density, size and state, heat flow and seismic activity. Launch with MarCO-1,2
Launch from VAFB on Type 1 trajectory. Landing on Elysium Planitia. 4.5N 135.9E. 130 x 27 km ellipse.
Launch mass 694 kg. Entry mass 608 kg. For cruise stage mass of 79 kg implies 7 kg of TCM prop used in cruise.
