The DS-U2-GK No. 1 'geophysics complex' satellite studies auroral electrons during the 1968-1969 solar maximum. It operated until reentry in Feb 1969.

Mass 335 kg. The satellite carried additional solar panels on one end. It studied winter conditions at solar max.

Debris objects were associated with the launch. PI of the satellite was Yu. Galperin of IKI.
