Challenger's second flight began on 1983 Jun 18. After re-rendezvous with SPAS, the astronauts carried out a total of 5 retrievals with the RMS arm. The next day, the SPAS was unberthed again for tests of the dynamics of the loaded RMS arm. SPAS was placed in various positions near the orbiter and the thrusters were fired to see how much the arm wobbled; the satellite was reberthed at the end of the experiment. STS-7 was to have been the first Shuttle landing at KSC but bad weather diverted Challenger to Edwards.
