LM A2100AXS class satellite to replace Astra 1E at 19.2E with DTH television in Ku-band and broadband data transmissions in Ka-band.

Mass 4505 kg launch, 2254 kg dry. Size 7.7 x 3.6m with 27m span.

Launched by Ariane 5ECA V176/L536 in May 2007. Carries Sylda 5A (1.5m extension, total height 6.4m) and long fairing, with 1194H adapters on each satellite. Astra 1L had the upper position above Galaxy 17.
