Gambit 6

 1964-012A

KH-7 GAMBIT flight 6 was launched on 1964 Mar 11 by Atlas Agena D from Point Arguello into a 96 degree inclination orbit. According to the SATCAT, NORAD tracked the Agena D rocket stage in a separate orbit with a much higher apogee. Various OCV orbital burns were made. This flight was considered to be the first on which important intelligence data was collected. The vehicle operated for 3 days and 170 targets were imaged.
