Kosmos 12

  1962-072

Zenit-2 No. 6 was launched on 1962 Dec 22. It was the first Zenit series craft to fly an 8 day mission, which would become the standard - Western observers nicknamed the series the `eight-day wonders'. The satellite also carried supplementary radiation experiments. It landed 550 km northwest of Novosibirsk.
