Kosmos 167

  1967-063A

The second Venera-67 probe was V-67 No. 311. It was stranded in Earth orbit and named Kosmos-167 instead of Venera-5. The BOZ ullage section fired and separated but the Blok-L main engine failed to ignite. The Blok-L appears to have separated from the V-67 payload, although there is some confusion about the identity of objects from the launch.
