Satellite 9433 (F-3) was launched on 1973 Dec 13 together with F-4. Its prelaunch designation was DSCS II B-3; the B reflected a system upgrade. It suffered a temporary attitude failure in 1975 but was still operating in 1976. It was retired in the late 1970s and moved out of stationary orbit in 1982.

DSCS II B-4, satellite 9434 was launched in 1973 with F-3. The longest lived DSCS II satellite, it was finally deactivated in 1993 after two decades. From 1974 to 1977 it was over the Pacific; it was then moved to the Indian Ocean.
