Spacecraft had factory number 138 5351 535I.
The science data system was activated on Feb 17, but in July the satellite began suffering power supply problems. After a battery failure on Dec 1, science operations with the satellites came to an end and contact was lost on Dec 11.

- PENGUIN-M Ioffe, HX polarimeter 20-150 keV scintillator plus 1-10 KeV soft X flux meter
- FXM MEPHI fast x-ray monitor 20-500 keV, <1ms res
- RT-2 TIFR LE gamma spectra with 2 phoswitch 15-150 keV and 100-2000 keV and one 10-100 keV CZT coded mask with 64cm2. 30 arcmin; if FZP used might get 30".
- SphinX Poland 0.5-15 keV, 10 ms; solar full disk
- PHOKA MEPHI vis, FUV and XUV La,vis etc.
- TESIS FeXIX , HeII, WF XUV, Mg XII, XUV spectral channels; solar full disk (FIAN)
