Galaxy 11

 1999-071A

First HS-702. GEO 74W. Launch originally planned by Zenit-3SL No 1 1998 from Odyssey platform. In 1998 was switched to a Dec 1999 Ariane 4 launch. Will be placed at 99W to replace Galaxy 4; Galaxy 6, the temporary replacement, will become an in-orbit spare. Launch 1999 Q4. Launch mass 4484 kg. Dry mass may be around 2750 kg. Size 6.2 x 3.8 x 3.3m, span 34.0m.

The new 25-cm XIPS was used as an orbit adjust engine, unlike the earlier 13-cm HS-601 XIPS used only for NSSK. The HS-702 does carry a bipropellant 445N R-4D-11-300 HPT engine and 8 RCS thrusters. Some later HS-702s will use the R-4D-15.
