GeoEye 1

 2008-042A


Orbview-5, successor to OV-3, provided the NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) NextView ORBIMAGE data. It was built by General Dynamics Adv Info Systems, Gilbert, Arizona using an SA-200HP bus. (GD bought Spectrum Astro in Jul 2004).

GeoEye-1 has a mass of 1923 kg (Delta mission book). GeoEye (formerly Space Imaging and Orbiew), Dulles VA. satellite. Siz 4.4m long 2.7m dia hex cyl + panel; 8 x 22N thrusters with 144 kg prop. Control from GeoEye/Herndon.
